Fire Explorer Post 1000

The El Dorado County Fire Protection District hosted Fire Explorer Post 1000 is a thriving program within our District. Sponsored by the Boy Scouts of America, it allows youth from the community, ages 14-21, to train on the skills and learn the requirements of what it takes to become a career firefighter. Firefighter / Paramedic Tony Borrego currently leads the Explorer Post, developing their classroom curriculum in addition to planning their manipulative training exercises. The Explorers meet on the mornings of the first and third Saturday of the month.

There are currently ten active members within the District’s Explorer program with several more scheduled to enlist and join the ranks soon. The program has been a very successful launching pad for goal oriented individuals, as we currently have 2 career firefighters employed with the district, whose firefighting foundation began in the Explorer program.

For information on program details and how your youth can become a member please contact our Administrative Office 530-644-9630.
