Firefighters Complete Wildland Fire Safety Training Annual Refresher

Firefighters are preparing for wildfire this week by participating Wildland Fire Safety Training Annual Refresher (RT-130) drills. Firefighters practiced several firefighting tactics including progressive hose lays, portable pump use and fire shelter deployment among other skills.

All firefighters annually retrain prior to fire season in order to focus line-going personnel on operations and decision-making issues related to fireline safety.  It's our agency's goal to have all firefighters work to recognize and mitigate risk, maintain safe and effective practices, and reduce accidents and near misses.
