At 8:45 am on December 27, 2021, firefighters responded to a house fire in a residential duplex off of Woodridge Court in Placerville. Firefighters arrived and contained the fire to one unit. The second unit was moderately damaged by smoke. A patient was transported emergent by Medic 25 to UC Davis with moderate burn injuries. Several pets perished in the fire. The families are being assisted by Red Cross. The cause of the fire is under investigation by fire investigators at scene.
El Dorado County Fire Protection District was assisted by Cameron Park Fire Department, CAL FIRE Amador-El Dorado Unit , Diamond Springs El Dorado Fire Protection District , Placerville Police Department and El Dorado County Sheriff's Office Animal Control.
