National Wildland Firefighters Day - July 2, 2022

Today is National Wildland Firefighter Day!

Our wildland urban-interface communities are no strangers to the difference that wildland firefighters make while working to save lives, property, infrastructure, and precious natural and cultural resources. The men and women that serve in the El Dorado County Fire Protection District are all-risk firefighters meaning that being a wildland firefighter is another one of the many hats they wear. Thank you to our firefighters for rising to the challenge as wildland firefighters, we appreciate your hard work and dedication!

This is the first year that #NationalWildlandFirefighterDay has been observed - recognizing the dedication of wildland firefighters, including federal, state, local, military, rural, contract, and support personnel. Just this morning, The White House released a statement in support of National #WildlandFirefighterDay here https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/statements-releases/2022/07/02/statement-by-president-joseph-r-biden-jr-on-national-wildland-firefighter-day/
